Rental agencies can register for ‘I‑PRAC approved’ status through the I‑PRAC website. The application process involves a number of checks and verification procedures, helping to reassure travellers that a rental agency has been thoroughly vetted and verified as a legitimate accommodation provider.
As part of our in-depth and rigorous approval process, we require rental agencies to provide the following documents to help us verify their credentials:
Copy of passport(s) for all company owners
Utility bill for company head office
Certificate of Incorporation
Proof of bank account registration
I‑PRAC will then work with government agencies in the relevant country to verify the application and supporting documentation. We currently have partnerships with government organizations in 28 countries including France, Spain, Italy and the USA.
Our thorough process also involves checks on a property owner’s contact details, including email addresses and phone numbers, using sophisticated verification techniques.
In addition, we carry out detailed checks on how a property is advertised on accommodation platforms, looking very closely at property photos, descriptions and reviews in order to assess their validity.
Once a rental agency passes all of our checks, it will officially be ‘I‑PRAC approved’. This means it can display the I‑PRAC logo and its unique ID number on its website and other online property listings. Due to the in-depth nature of our verification process, applicants can expect to receive a response to their application within three weeks.
Rental fraud is on the rise, with unsuspecting travellers being conned out of millions of pounds each year through fake websites, false advertising and email scams. Give customers the confidence that you’re a genuine provider by becoming I‑PRAC approved – and join the global fight against rental fraud.
Anyone renting an I‑PRAC approved property has to register their booking through the I‑PRAC website. This will send a confirmation email to the rental agency and the client. If the agency doesn’t recognise the booking, we will inform the client and refund them 100% of their booking fee. For wire transfer payments, clients are also encouraged to check that the last five digits of the agency’s bank account match those listed on their I‑PRAC profile page.
