Hi my name is Ged Gurney and I am the proud owner of Merseybeat Short Stays on the Wirral. If you’ve not heard of the Wirral, you’re missing out on a hidden gem.
Part of the Liverpool City region, Wirral is an affluent peninsula which combines award-winning beaches, ancient woodland and charming villages with easy access into Liverpool and Birkenhead. And we enjoy our own wonderful microclimate too!
Our spacious and unique Victorian walled garden property in Oxton was originally constructed to accommodate medical professionals to the region. It fell into disrepair as did a lot of Victorian properties in the area.
When we first visited the property, we saw past the disrepair and fell in love with it. Over several years we renovated it inside and out; transforming it from a derelict environmental eyesore to the best home in Oxton!
It became our family home where we fostered over 40 children through 15 years before moving on to our next renovation.
Too large for a traditional family, we repurposed it for corporate stays. It is now a serviced accommodation managed in-house by our own property management company.Merseybeat Properties LTD.
We are a small family team. Several of my foster family help out with decoration, cleaning, changeovers, admin, marketing and maintenance. We teach them vital life skills. I love to share my business ethos and knowledge with them .
Merseybeat Stays is an ideal base for working in the area or to visit popular attractions in the North West of England and North Wales .The accommodation is ideal for corporate stays, contractor teams, training groups, golf group breaks as well as large foster families and multi generational holidays.
Liverpool City Centre is just a few bus stops away (10 mins) and Chester City 25 mins.
